More than two years of development work went into the Swiss Galoppers Hoof Boot (yes - that is the correct spelling!). They claim to set new standards in terms of quality, functionality, workmanship and comfort.

Swiss Galopper L-Version

The L version of the Swiss Gallopers hoof boot is especially suitable for slightly longer hooves, with high heel bulbs.

The boot comes with two connectors made of the same durable TPU plastic as the hoof boot. These can be individually exchanged to suit the shape of the hoof, the position of the heel and the size of the bale.

Key features of the Swiss Galoppers Hoof Boot:

  • Low profile
  • Practical and user friendly (easy on/off and easy to clean)
  • Anti-twist and shock absorbing insole
  • Heel section articulation
  • All parts of the boot are flexible
  • All-round fastening strap with no cables or screws
  • Tough and hardwearing - high abrasion resistance
  • Ideal breakover point - supports natural movement and ensures a good lateral support
  • Sole profile to allow dirt and debris to easily fall out
  • Guide holes in the sole, for studs
  • Dirt guard at the heels - to prevent dirt and stones entering the boot
  • Optional gaiter - for sensitive horses or for those with low heels

The amount of grip will change if the surface is wet. Always consider safety for horse and rider regarding wet/dry surfaces.

HERE is a guide with some Tips & Tricks for fitting your Swiss Galopper boot.

    Lost them 3 times!!

Published by CARMEN MORILLO on 10th Aug 2022

After a few months using Scoot Boots for my horses fronts (never had a problem with them!) I was looking for something easier to put on for her backs. After purchasing the fit kit I went with the Swiss Gallopers in the size recommended by both the shop and my trimmer. The first day I used them, they both came off. I could recover them. I was advised to put them on, make the horse walk, and then tighten them again. I did that, to the point that the boots even were slightly marking my horses hooves. Last week one came off again, but luckily I noticed and dismounted to put it back. Yesterday, they both came off and I did not notice at all. I went back with my car but could only find one. I must say that during the three occasions I have lost them I was hacking on roads. I am afraid that the velcros lose their stickiness after just a few uses, despite being cleaned after every use. It has been barely a month with them, and now 200 pounds just down the drain... Never again! :_( Hi Carmen, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I have looked into this and although you hired Fit Kit shells for the Swiss Galoppers from us, I cannot see that we ever saw any photos of the fit kit shells on the hooves, and we were not involved in the decision on size. As we had suggested trying a larger size also, I suspect that this size is too small for the hooves. A boot that is too small can be pushed off the hoof, causing it to twist or come off. It is also important for the Swiss Galoppers to fit correctly around the heel area. If you would like to let us have some photos of the remaining boot on the hooves, so we can see how it fits, then we would be happy to discuss this with you. We had suggested trying a number of brands in our Mixed Fit Kit initially, in case the Swiss Galopper brand did not suit the hoof shape, but we see that you only tried the Swiss Galopper and not any other brands. It is likely that a different brand will suit the hind hooves better. We would be happy to help find a more suitable alternative if you would like to get in touch. The Hoof Bootique Team

These boots are such a success so far. I like how easy they are to take on and off and how they do not get sodden through with wet or dirt when out hacking! Expensive but worth it!

Delighted with these boots, so easy to put on and do not seem to move on my mares feet despite testing them on varied terrain.
