Equine Fusion is a Norwegian company which since 2005 has developed a new type of horse boot, a flexible, light and durable Jogging Shoe that protects the horse’s hooves from shock, wear and unnatural pressure. First they developed the Equine Fusion Jogging Shoe Ultra - a new dimension in hoof protection and hoof boots/shoes. The world's first jogging shoe for horses! They then added the Performance and Ultimate Jogging Shoes to their collection, and now the All Terrain and the All Terrain Ultra!

The All Terrain Ultra model has been developed by Equine Fusion after extensive market research and testing. Equine Fusion are very confident that the All Terrain Ultra will allow a much wider range of horses to successfully wear their boots, and with this give you the freedom to choose a jogging shoe that fits your horse.

The All Terrain Ultra model will considerably improve the following in demanding applications:
• Twisting of hoof boot (for horses with natural twisting movement)
• Proper fit on upper part of hoof (for horses with odd shaped hooves)
• Run/twist out of hoof boot (the locking system keeps the shoe on)
• Rubbing (the soft upper will be good to sensitive areas)
• Breathable material (for rehabilitation purposes)

Key Features:

  • Thick sole gives excellent protection for the hoof
  • All Terrain pattern which gives you excellent grip on all surfaces
  • Optimal roll over for the hoof
  • Same excellent tread as the All Terrain model.
  • Wear resistant rubber sole designed for tough challenges
  • Fitted with the Ultra upper, for increased security, strength and adjustability.
  • Unique flexible sole that protects and absorbs shock
  • Supports natural hoof mechanism.
  • Forces distributed through the sole, not sidewalls.
  • Closer ground contact.
  • Unrestricted natural movement of all limbs.
  • Flexible upper supports all hoof shapes, hoof does not need to fit the sole
  • Double locking system - less risk of loosing a shoe
  • Tested, developed and produced according to European Health and Environment Regulations
  • Aids rehabilitation of hoof issues.
  • Fits difficult hoof shapes and can be used on deformed hooves.
  • Can be used for both riding and rehab.

Can be used with pads, although not normally necessary due to the design of the boot. Some particularly sensitive or footsore horses may be more comfortable using the boots with the Equine Fusion Dampening Pad - a new type of pad designed specifically for use in the Equine Fusion range of boots.

The amount of grip will change if the surface is wet. Always consider safety for horse and rider regarding wet/dry surfaces.

Please find the Dampening Pad here.

    Great product

Published by Hilary Mattheww on 30th Jun 2023

We are now on our fourth pair having started using them during Covid when remedial farrier could not get here. The horses feet are better than they have ever been - harder and with a better shape and improved heal, so we stuck with them despite the slight inconvenience of fitting them. They are tough and hard wearing despite a lot of road work. Downside: on really wet days they get waterlogged, so we do not leave them on indoors.

I am currently in the transition process with my two boys and originally bought a pair for the fronts really easy to put on and take off they are just like trainers. I now have these for the backs also just to make him more comfortable in his transition and not so ouchy. They work and so far so good we are only on week 5.

Equine Fusion All Terain Ultra (Jogging Shoes)

Purchasing my first pair of hoof boots and had no idea what I was doing. I sent the required photos into Hoof Bootique and certain boots were recommended. I hired the shells to check sizing. Sent in further videos and photos of the shells on her feet and was recommended which they thought were best. The boots are amazing and do not twist or move at all. She is very happy walking around in them.

    Great boots

This is the third pair of these boots we have bought in two and a half years. Lockdown denied us a remedial farrier so we tried these. Saved us a fortune and his feet are the best they have ever been. They are solid and hard wearing and we will not go back to iron shoes. Of course, they take a few minutes to fit. But worth it.

    Rubbish quality and bulky

Published by Emma Tyler on 17th May 2022

I bought these boots for my Welsh section d who is barefoot and was diagnosed with navicular. I had them a couple of weeks and notice the material of the boots had started to fray and the stitching was coming undone. I have had them since late January/ early February and honestly, the quality of them is horrendous. I stopped using them for a while because the Velcro round the back kept coming loose after 2 months. Also, my horse never trips up and is agile on his feet but since wearing these, he has experienced a few bad falls and one of them nearly resulted him falling into a cattle grid. Now the boots fit where the hoof in concerned, but the rest of the material just does not seem up to quality. I would not waste my money on these boots again. I use another brand of boots as well and these still look brand new. --- Hi Emma, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are very sorry to hear that the Equine Fusion All Terrain Ultras you purchased have not worked out for your horse. We have spoken with Equine Fusion regarding the stitching on their boots, and they have reassured us that the stitching is only temporary whilst they glue the boots together in the factory, and it appearing to come undone does not affect the integrity of the boot (as the boot is held securely by glue). The All Terrain Ultra model can be a great option for some horses, but often the Equine Fusion Active model is our top pick. The All Terrain Ultras do give you more material around the heel bulbs, and have a softer upper that sits at a slightly different angle to other Equine Fusion Models (e.g. the Active model is more closely fitting around the heel bulbs). When the All Terrain Ultras are the right boot for a horse, they can work well and are a really useful boot. However, it sounds as if they may not have been the best fit for your horse, especially if you had trouble with the velcro and your horse tripping, which can cause them to wear faster. If ever you have any fit or quality issues with any boots in the future, please do get in touch as we are always happy to help try to resolve the issue. Many thanks, The Hoof Bootique Team

    Disappointing

Published by Val Hall on 15th Sep 2021

I bought these boots as the Equine Fusion All Terrain were out of stock, and I thought that the additional straps would be good to prevent twisting as one of my horses feet is narrow than the others. They are well made and the soles are good, but I was not expecting them to be so different in material and design to the All Terrain boots. It is impossible to tighten the straps sufficiently around the pastern, so a great deal of mud and debris gets into the inside of the boot. The sides of the boot are fabric and much more permeable than the All Terrain boots. This means that they get soggy and full of debris, so they need hosing out each day. However, I put them in the washing machine this morning and they washed beautifully, being almost dry after the spin cycle. I would not buy these boots again, although I am considering buying another set of All Terrain boots and using them alternately, so that each pair gets an extra day to dry out. - Hi Val, The All Terrain Ultra boots do fit differently to the All Terrain, so if the All Terrain has worked well for the horse before, it is usually best to stick with that model or try the Active model (which is closer fitting like the All Terrain). The All Terrain Ultra has a lot more material around the heel area and pastern, which can be beneficial to the fit for some horses, but on other it may not work as well (and is a bit roomy). It definitely sounds as if the All Terrain Ultra isnt quite the right fit on your horse, since you shouldnt have that amount of debris getting into the boot. We are very sorry we were out of stock of the All Terrain model when you ordered. If we are ever out of stock of an item you need in the future, please dont hesitate to get in touch since we are always happy to discuss suitable alternatives if necessary. Many thanks, The Hoof Bootique Team.

    Equine Fusion All Terrain Ultra

My horse has different sized front feet these boots adjust really well and fit his odd feet perfectly. The locking system with two locking bands gives me confidence that the boots will stay on. A very clever and well thought out piece of kit.

    Equine fusion boots

I have previously had Cavallo trek boots which were good but these are far better as they fit better. The dual front and back straps and longer sock helps make it a much better fit. My horse is fully comfortable in them which is great!

    all terrain ultra

I bought these as paddock boots because they are more breathable than the other fusion boots I ride in. These boots have really been a game-changer. My little TB less shoulder tension movement is improving, as with her confidence which is great. As an Equine and Human Bodyworker, it is all about posture and correct movement and helping them be the best they can be. Thanks, Fusion xx

    Good, flexible boot

Published by Ellen Klaveness on 27th May 2021

The All Terrain model is a good boot, and EF have done good things in recent years improving sole durability. The boot is relatively user-friendly for a beginner to understand and put on, if a bit fiddly. The mechanism is a little primitive compared to other brands, but the boots do stay on. The unfortunate thing about Equine Fusion is that the material they are made from gets sodden in wet terrain, and are a pain to dry out to avoid becoming disgusting and smelly. This also makes them difficult to clean and maintain. For this reason I have stopped using Equine Fusion. Hi Ellen, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We have found that using the Boot Bananas in wet hoof boots really helps them to dry out, and other customers have successfully used electric boot dryers too, if drying out wet boots is a problem. The sole of the Equine Fusion can offer such support and comfort that it is often worth finding a way to manage the drying, in wet conditions. The Hoof Bootique Team
